Another use of the LongTrace:Box system is to use it to handle sequencing demand spikes. If your demand varies quite a bit you can use LongTrace in two modes. The first mode is when demand is low and you use LongTrace to maximize read length. The second mode is when demand is high and you use LongTrace to increase your sequencer throughput.
This can be a very attractive option if your demand peaks are such that you are thinking of buying a new sequencer – Longtrace is certainly much cheaper than buying a new sequencer!
