Malaysia Genome Institute (MGI) is a network-based not-for-profit research organization engaging in discovery research on tropical resources through projects on genome sequencing, comparative and functional genomics and structural biology. The Genome Facility in MGI has been established as a national core facility to serve research needs.

The institute is a partner to all public universities for postgraduate programs in Molecular Biology. For DNA sequencing service, the facility has many instruments range from traditional Sanger sequencing to high-throughput NGS sequencing.
