What is a PeakTrace Serial Number?

The PeakTrace Serial Number is an additional license number provided to you by Nucleics (or your local supplier) when you first install Auto PeakTrace. It is a 20 character long value broken into 5 blocks of 4 characters (i.e. XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). It is not the same as the PeakTrace License Code which is accessed from the Options window.

How many computers can I install Auto PeakTrace 6 on?

You can install Auto PeakTrace 6 on up to 5 different computers and up to 10 times on the one computer. If you wish to install Auto PeakTrace 6 on more computers, you will need to unistall Auto PeakTrace from one of your 5 computers.

How does Online Activation interact with the Internet?

The online based activation process uses an Internet connection to request a license for Auto PeakTrace. No personal information is collected, stored, or transmitted during the Product Activation process.

I am getting the error message “No proper connection could be made with the activation server.”

If you don’t have internet access or are being blocked by a firewall, you may need to activate manually. To do this you will need to supply the Unlock Request Code to Nucleics (or your local supplier). The Unlock Request Code is shown on the error page “Activation Failed”.

I am getting the error message “The activation key was not found in the database.”

The likely cause of this error is you have entered the serial number incorrectly, so just try again, taking care to enter the characters. If this problem happens repeatedly, then please get in contact with Nucleics or your local supplier.

I am getting the error message “Too many activations on different PCs or too many reactivations on the same PC have been performed…”

You have exceeded the limits for installing Auto PeakTrace (5 computers or 10 re-installs on the same computer). The solution is to un-install Auto PeakTrace from one of your computers and try again.

How can I revoke Auto PeakTrace 6?

The best way to revoke a license is to uninstall Auto PeakTrace 6. If this is not working, you can revoke a license from the command line by calling Auto PeakTrace 6 with /revoke (i.e [path to Auto PeakTrace 6] /revoke ).
