IBB was established in 2002 at the Savitribai Phule Pune Univeristy under the University with Potential for Excellence (UPE) grant of University Grants Comission. The focus of IBB is to promote high quality research and develop technically skilled human resource in the area of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology.

DNA Template Requirements
Samples must be purified
Minimum template conc. should be 100 ng/μl
Minimum volume should be 10μl.
Plasmids
1 – 2 µg/µl in a dried
Provide 0.5 μg of more DNA for every additional reactions
PCR products
PCR products <500bp | 10ul of 20-50 ng/μl
PCR products >500bp | 10ul of 50-100ng/μl
Samples must be enclosed with the gel photo of the samples with a size marker
Provide 20 ng more DNA per 100 bp product length for every additional reactions
Primers
10 pmol/μ
Provide 5 μl of more primer for every additional reaction.
Other information
The samples need to be submitted in 1.5ml micro centrifuge tubes and not be eluted /dissolved by using Tris EDTA buffer.
DNA purification method needs to be indicated before sequencing.

Standard sequencing primers are available at the facility. For specific primers, customers have to submit with the samples. Customer needs to fill the form and send it to Lab In-charge, Cental Instrumentation Lab, IBB to order the sequencing service. The form can be found here.
